Here we will find useful tips and tricks and information to clean your neglected floor tiles. Here we examine the deep cleaning process getting your tiles clean.

With the deep cleaning we use a potassium hydroxide mixture of powerful cleaning agent. Most people know this as water based Degreaser. This high pH+14 is designed to remove soils which are accumulated from everyday use. This can come in the form of grease, oil, dirt or soils.

After a while, this build up is what we want to remove with the heavy duty cleaner. Then you will want to get back to using a daily chemical with a pH+7, often known as pH Neutral.

With these deep cleaners, there are some tips and tricks which are laid out BELOW ON THIS PAGE

If your worried about what type of floor you have, there is no need because Alkaline Cleaners can be used on Select stone . Mable, Granite, Travertine and other natural surfaces. STEPS OF USE. CLEAN YOUR FLOOR

    • 1. Sweep or vacuum floor
    • 2. Close doors to eliminate breeze at floor level. We don't want this cleaner to dry out on any surface. So best to eliminate any ventilation down low.
    • 3. Put on your goggles and gloves. SAFETY ADVICE  - If any chemical is in eyes or on skin, flush with copious amounts of clean water then get help if required.
    • 4. Mix 1 part of Tile and Concrete Cleaner Chemical to 5 parts of water. This is the strongest i would make it. You can go 1:1 but never just neat as you need water H2o for activation.
    •     To clarify, as an example - you would put 2 litres of chemical per full mop bucket of 16 litres.
    • 5. Next, take your mop and lift it out of the bucket without wringing it. Liquid will flood the immediate area, so take caution. We call this Slush Mopping.
    • 6. Spread in a workable area of about 20m2 .
    • 7. you can let this sit for 3 mins, then use a soft indoor broom to go over the tops of the tiles in a circular motion. MUST be a soft broom, as the harder bristle ones can flick onto your nice painted walls.
    • 8. Grab a handy grout brush and go down the grout. You will dislodge the top gunk in the grout. IF its the case the dirt in the grout is thick, you will need to re apply the tile chemical liquid and repeat until it is all off and able to mop up
    •  9. There is no doubt that the hardest part of deep cleaning is the sludgy mess left behind on the floor. This can either be mopped up by changing the water regularly, or if your attacking a larger area, its always recommended to use a commercial wet and dry vacuum cleaner.
    • 10. When you have finished , we request a final mop over with an acidic solution. 3 Cups of white vinegar in your water.... this will neutralise and alkaline. YOU CAN'T DO THIS STEP IF TILES ARE MARBLE, STONE, GRANITE, TRAVERTINE ETC. THE ACIDIC WILL DAMAGE THESE TYPES OF TILES.
    • 11. If you do have these type of tiles, best to use the pH neutral chemical that your purchasing to use on a regular basis.
    • 12. Store any unsued chemical WELL AWAY FROM CHILDREN
