Before we proceed, just a quick note for those who are afraid of chemicals. The products we advise are not toxic. The pH level will differ from the regular Coles and Woolies ones. This is where a " Commercial" product is required over the standard run of mill cleaners. This comment also leads us into a quick educative lesson about floor cleaners.

About the pH scale.. this science scale is used to measure how alkaline or acidic something is. A low reading of 1-2 is ACID based and a High reading 12-14  is ALKALINE based. Between these readings sits pH Neutral of 7.5 reading. This is the same reading as your skin. This is the level we want to leave our floors with after cleaning. We don't want to leave the floor with Alkaline Residue as aside from the increased risk of slip fall ( slipping over because of chemical residues ) we don't like to leave any Alkaline film after we mop. The residues will also allow your floor to get dirtier quicker. The Alkaline will attract dirt to the floor. Lastly, Alkaline residues are not good for your skin, so please use appropriate PPE Equipment like rubber gloves when handling.

Is this OK for my type of tiles ? 80% of floor tiles are glazed ceramic or porcelain while the others are stone, engineered, etc  With deep cleaning using Alkaline, this chemical wont affect the tiles like an acid will. You can use Alkaline cleaners on most floors. Just remember we try not to let chemicals dry on a surface.
