JD McDonald ( A Division of MacDonald Johnston) expanded into washroom products including the distribution of electric hand dryers in 1959.

In 1985, commenced the manufacture of electric hand dryers locally as JD MacDonald identified the need for improved products.  During this time, one of the world's first automatic hand dryers was introduced.

The development has continued, they offer range of bathroom accessories, commercial washroom accessories, including paper towel, hand dryer, and waste disposal all in one unit. They also offer childcare equipment such as baby changing stations. These unique products are designed in Australia with the emphasis being on appearance, functionality and durability.

In 2013 JD MacDonald was acquired by the ASI Group and as the newly founded ASI JD MacDonald, continues to provide more choices in hand dryers, paper towel dispensers, waste bins, combination units, grab rails, baby changing stations, soap dispensers, toilet paper dispensers and much more. They also offer a range of waste management products – garbage / linen chutes and rotobins.
